Tonus and Karro top Qualifying

01 April 2012

Go Back Monster Energy Bike It Yamaha rider Arnaud Tonus made up for the disappointment of his American team mate having to return to the States injures from a practise crash by taking top spot in both Q1 and Q2 of the MX2 Class at Canada Heights this morning. Equally, Buildbase Honda teamster Nicolas Aubin who had a disasterous opening round, slotted into second for an all important pick on the start gate. Bryan MacKenzie (Rockstar KTM) took an important third in the superpole elevating himself from an initial 7th in Q1.

Equally dominant in the MX1 class was Latvian Matiss Karro (STR KTM) whose Superpole lap was over one second faster than Shaun Simpson on the bigger version of the Monster Energy Bike It Yamaha. Series Leader, Kevin Strijbos (HM Plant KTM UK) could only manage 9th in Q1, but after chosing to go last in the Q2 superpole elevated himself up to thid for the all important gate choice when the racing gets underway later this afternoon.

The MXY2 Youth Class are currently in their qualifying session which we will update you on later when the results are in.

A large crowd is enjoying the Kent Sunshine ahead of the eight Championship races which take place later today.
