MX Manager for Lyng - your chance!

01 May 2012

Go Back ACU events are pleased to announce that one of our Series Partners, MX Vice has launched a Fantasy League whereby YOU can take part. This is their Press Release issued earlier today.

MX Vice is delighted to announce the launch of a new section on their rapidly growing motocross website. Ladies, Gentlemen, boys and girls MX Manager has arrived! So often a topic for ‘bench racers’ is what kind of motocross race team they’d put together if they won the lottery or had the money. What riders they’d have on their team, what manufacture bikes they’d use and more importantly, how much better their team would be than their friends!! The MX Vice staff have all played that game many times before and that’s why we’ve decided to build our very own on line fantasy motocross where we put you in control and you can compete online with your mates for bragging rights!

'Most people I know in British motocross have had the debate about who’d they’d have on their own race team if they had one. Everyone has a different opinion and their favourite riders, that’s what makes bench racing so much fun. Like being a football supporter, it’s great when your team wins and it seems a constant stream of mild abuse from your mates when they don’t! So we thought why not build an online module to allow people to compete with each other? That way it just makes it a little more interesting when you’re following the racing, so that’s what we’ve done! reckons MX Vice boss James Burfield.

MX Vice’s Editor in Chief, Jeff Perrett, also welcomes the concept, saying 'I wish we’d come up with this idea sometime ago, it would’ve saved me a load of time and money setting up my own real team! The trouble is, now if I don’t pick those riders for my MX Manager team their confidence could be shot! In all seriousness though, it’s a cool idea and it’ll be a good bit of fun and another way to express your opinion and support the riders you like. Competition is a healthy thing and a motocross is one of the most competitive sports and lifestyles I know, whether you’re a racer or fan. Trust me, every real life team manager wants to win as much as their riders, now this will give everyone a chance to feel like that.

Getting started on MX manager is really quite simple, all you do is log on to www.mxvice.com, sign up and register to become your own MX Manager. You have £200,000 to spend (imaginary money of course, we haven’t gone that far!) on six riders to make up your team for each championship race. We’re kicking off MX Manager this weekend for round three of the ACU Maxxis British championship. So rather than just trying to get one over on your mates, see if you can make a team that will top the pile this weekend and win yourself some MX Vice goodies and cash prizes! Yeah, that’s right, cash is on the line, so make sure your team is for MX Vice’s MX Manager every weekend as we do our bit to continue to try and evolve British motocross and make it more interesting for everyone.
