Go Back Local rider, Elliot Banks Browne (HM Plant KTM UK) made a perfect start in the first MX2 race with a start to finish win in heavy drizzle which cleared later in the race. It was Graeme Irwin (Samsung RFX Yamaha) who took second spot – just over five seconds behind EBB, whilst red plate holder going into the round, Mel Pocock on the smaller version Monster Energy Bike It Yamaha took third, a further five seconds adrift. Steven Lenoir (Samsung RFX Yamaha) took fourth ahead of Bryan MacKenzie (Rockstar KTM) and Neville Bradshaw (Evotech Stevens Honda) whilst Jordan Booker (Buildbase Honda) recorded his best finish to date this year.

In a dramatic climax to the opening MX1 encounter, Shaun Simpson (Monster Energy Bike It Yamaha) closed down a mid race eight second deficit to finish just one third of a second behind red plate holder Kevin Strijbos (HM Plant KTM UK). Complaining of lapping riders Strijbos was nearly caught out in the final 300 metres of the perfectly prepared Cadders Hill circuit. Staying with the two leaders in the early stages, Stephen Sword (Tyco Suzuki by TAS) finished in a comfortable, but lonely third place, whilst Matiss Karro (STR KTM) took most of the race to catch and overtake Jason Dougan (Route 77 Energy MVR-D Honda).

In the first of the two MXY2 encounters, it was Dan Thornhill (Grittenham Meredith Suzuki) who took a narrow win from one of his championship rivals, Chris Bayliss (Wooldridge and Helyar Honda) by just under two seconds. Jack Kelly (Malin Honda) was third ahead of Robert Muscat (MXW Racing Honda) and another Championship contender, Robert Davidson (Asna Racing Honda) and Sam Winterburn (Appleyard Yamaha) in sixth. Championship leader, James Harrison (Lanes Kawasaki) could finish no higher than 14th whilst fastest qualifier, Brad Todd (Rev Racing Honda) only completed five laps of the scheduled nine.

The second motos are just starting in overcast skies, but perfect track conditions.
