First Moto updates

27 August 2012

Go Back In front of one of the largest crowds of the season, Zach Osborne (Monster Energy Bike It Yamaha) MX2 and Kevin Strijbos (HM Plant KTM UK) MX1 continued their winning ways in the first motos run in perfect conditions here at Langrish this afternoon. Osborne was chased all the way by his team partner and championship leader, Mel Pocock, but team orders were not used and Osborne recorded his first win since injuring himself early in the year. Bryann MacKenzie (Penrich KTM) stayed in touch with the leading pair for third whilst championship contender Elliot Banks-Browne (HM Plant KTM UK) had to settle for fourth after a mid race crash.

Meanwhile Strijbos was in no mood to be engaged in close racing and by half distance had built up a healthy lead in the MX1 class, which left Jason Dougan (Route 77 Energy MVR-D Honda) and Shaun Simpson (Monster Energy Bike It Yamaha) to have a long battle for second which eventually went to Simpson who finished 13 seconds adrift of Strijbos with Dougan a further seven seconds back the track. Martin Barr (Tyco Suzuki by TAS) was fourth after a race long battle with Alfie Smith (JK Racing Kawasaki), whilst Gordon Crockard - standing in for the injured Ray Rowson in the LPE Kawasaki Team, took a well deserved sixth.
