The Circuit

The Fatcat circuit is a purposely built sand track with fast flowing bends and rhythm sections. The demanding deep sand circuit will certainly be a challenge to riders and teams. Following the first event in 2012, there will be much more Spectator Area in 2013.

The Circuit

The course at Swanley, Kent known as Canada Heights, acquired its name during the 1914-18 War when a large contingent of Canadian troops were camped there on the high ground. It has, however been in regular use for off-road motorcycle sports for many years, and by the Sidcup and District Motor-cycle Club since 1938. Over the years, the circuit has hosted many events, from Club level to International status. It drew large crowds and national television coverage with the BBC "Grandstand Trophy" events during the 1960s. Despite its popularity and regular use by riders and spectators alike, it still remained just a rough piece of land for motorcycling until 1985, when the Sidcup Club bought it with the aid of a Sports Council grant and sponsorship from companies and individuals. Once purchased, the Club members set about transforming the whole area including development of access roads and clearing for spectator viewing and parking. During recent years, the land has been dramatically improved, but never at the expense of the beautiful countryside and wildlife. The land has been properly managed, with many new trees planted as the Club continues to develop the "South's Most Spec-tacular Circuit".

Location

Situated in Button Street, Swanley, Kent, BR8 8DX which is off the A20 be-tween Farningham and Swanley. Leave the M20 or M25 at the Swanley Inter-change (Junction 3 M25) following the brown Brands Hatch chequered flag signs. On the roundabout underneath the motorway pick up the RAC/AA/Club signs to the meeting. Take the Farningham / Brands Hatch exit from the round-about. Go straight over the roundabout by the council yard and take the first left (Button Street). The track is approximately 1 mile down the lane on the right hand side before the motorway tunnel. Camping is permitted. Drinking water is available at most meetings. A bar is only available at major meetings.

The Circuit

Pedigree:
Cadders Hill, Lyng is a natural hillside motocross circuit, primarily sand based, without too many man made obstacles. It is nonetheless a spectacular, physically demanding motocross venue that has witnessed many titanic battles for championship points. The Norwich Viking MCC team is constantly updating facilities for both riders and spectators.

The Norwich Vikings have been organizing motorcycle events at the Cadders Hill venue since 1936. Originally the venue was used for hillclimbs. After the war they ran what were known as mountain grasstracks until the circuit became too rough and from 1949 onwards they switched to scrambles. Club President, Dennis Slaughter, started competing there in 1948 and has been involved in one capacity or another ever since and still spends much of his time maintaining the track.
Lyng was one of the venues for the Grandstand Television Trophy scrambles in the late 60s; it also hosted a 125cc Grand Prix in 1993 and has been running British Championship events for over 25 years.

The result is a hard pack surface that is fast and flowing, with a wide variety of jumps, rhythm sections and high speed turns. Whether a top class rider or regular club competitor or even a new comer to our sport, Milton Park will leave you on a motocross high second to none. A good challenging track doesn‘t have to mean its exclusive. Milton Park will challenge riders at all levels and abilities, your sure to find the track is a real treat and a place you‘ll want to visit again and again.

Spectators are essential for the success of any venue, Milton Park is no exception and to this end our spectator facilities are first class. Our new all round viewing areas give the spectator amble opportunity to view the start and finish area or any of our exciting sections during the day.

Foxhill Moto Park has been established as a major Motocross venue since 1983, 26 years ago, during which time it has played host to events at every level of the sport. With riders of all grades, from Youth, through amateur adult club levels, to Classic and full on Professional World Championship rounds for individual and team glory, each learning to cope with the unique demands of one of the Worlds’ toughest and most respected MX tracks.

Termed only recently in TMX News, as the “Field of Dreams”, with perhaps the finest accolade of all pronounced by non other than multi World Champion Stefen Everts as having an atmosphere on race days as, “Second to None”, but it is our belief that the best is yet to come. During 2008, and onward the amenity was further developed and improved, the eventual aim being to provide a country park style facility that will just happen to have the United Kingdoms finest Motocross circuit within its bounds.

Location

Foxhill is situation 4 miles east of Swindon on the minor road between Baydon and Wanborough, just to the north of the M4 Motorway. From the M4 at junction 15 follow the A419 towards Swindon, at the first exit turn right onto the B4192 to Aldebourne. After 2 miles turn left at Liddington Cross Roads towards Baydon. After 1 mile you reach a crossroad by an Indian restaurant, turn left and the track is half a mile on the right hand.

The Circuit

Probably the most famous circuit in the country with its deep sands and demanding hills, this will be an exciting round for riders and spectators. The circuit has been updated throughout the winter of 2011 and new roadways have made parking much easier.

The Circuit

Probably the best known track in the South of England due to its history of running Grand Prix events which have featured British riders at the sharp end. Talk with anyone about Farleigh Castle and the response will come back about the Thorpe / Malherbe battle in the late eighties, when Thorpey came from dead last to first to keep his World Championship hopes alive.

ACU Events have been keen to use the circuit again for a Maxxis event, especially after the two year return of the championship in the late nineties was well received. Modern day motocross generally demands technical circuits with lots of jumps, but when it was possible for ACU Events to hire the circuit again a contract was immediately agreed, and with the assistance of Bill and Steve Douglas a plan was agreed for at least one major technical part to be constructed. Subsequently ACUE have entrusted the West Devon MCC, experienced Maxxis organisers, to actually run the event.

Being a traditional circuit, it is spread out more than more recently built tracks, but when riders disappear into the wooded section there is always great expectation as to who will appear back into the main arena first. The actual track layout will follow as closely as possible to the original GP circuit, with the exception of the little “nip” in the top field which will be bypassed.
